Perth and Finlay (No.2!)
Well we did eventually get another ewe lamb together with another ram lamb. This time we bought them from Mike at Willeswood Farm in Woodlands. Perth (black and white) actually looks as though her legs are way too long for her, you never know she may grow into them one day, and Finlay I think you'll agree is a fine ram lamb and no doubt will woo "the girls" when he is old enough and someone has told him about the birds and the bees!
Patch and Dusty's kittens
Patch's kittens were born underneath Samantha's bed on the 5th May and Dusty's were born on the 8th May in the hallway by the fridge freezer at 11a.m.! Patch has two ginger toms, a tortoiseshell female and a black female and Dusty has a silver tabby boy who has already been sold called Oliver, a little female who has a black back and top of head and silver tabby legs and undercarriage and two black females.

Well it was Paul's birthday and as usual Sophie and Matt always buy him some lambs. We decided as we were going to get some more ewe lambs as well that it would be worth getting our own ram lamb. Sophie and her best friend Jo had strict instructions not to walk in with one lamb but to get a ewe lamb as well otherwise it would be lonely. Then in they walk with Finlay the ram lamb and COLIN! the castrated lamb!!! When asked why on earth they had bought "castrated Colin" apparently it was a long story but there were no ewe lambs born yet and as we had said to make sure they walked in with two they had decided to buy "castrated Colin" for themselves and Paul could have Finlay. I then asked which of them was going to come and do the 2a.m., feed to which they then said "that's why we thought he could live here". Unfortunately little Finlay didn't make it past two days old so we have been left with Colin who is absolutely adorable, and many customers have wanted to take him home. I hope you like the photos which I think just about sums him up. As you can see it wasn't Colin's fault that his mum gave him the wrong body when he was born, after all he is a Springer Spaniel and just looks like a lamb. Colin will remain as our lodger and yard lamb and is up for as many cuddles as he can get by all who visit.
Wanda's first litter
Well Wanda the Saddleback finally did it! On Friday 16 November 2007 she produced a litter of 11 Saddleback piglets. The first little gilt arrived at 7pm and the last one at 9pm - 2 hours for 11 babies WOW! The arrival of our latest brood was witnessed by Witney and Cleo Squibb aged 9 and 4 respectively and Lucy Strehlau 22! I have to say there wasn't a lot of difference between the response from the little ones and the big little one!!
Here at Warrawee we normally Artificially Inseminate all our sows with semen provided by Deerpark Pigs of Ireland. Wanda unfortunately lost a litter of piglets in the summer of 2006 after which her seasons were difficult to monitor and her udder refused to go back to its original size and things quite obviously were amiss. This was why we then decided to find Wanda a husband!
Our thanks go to Flash, the Saddleback boar belonging to Chris Oakes and Sheila Rudland-Wood (and Lorna) of Setley who quite obviously knows what he's doing (Flash that is not Chris!). If you would like to use Flash to cover sows then please get in contact and we will pass your details on. No wonder Wanda fell in love with him, what a handsome beast he is!!!
Wanda and babies are doing well; there are two little dolly piglets but they appear strong and manage to put up a fight for any available teat so all appears to be well. We will keep you posted how they get on.
